Baby Blues Drop Fire with Late Score
|
The Quebec City Baby Blues downed the Franklin Fire, 5-2, at Dylan Park. The Baby Blues were led by Kawenaula Alohalani, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Martin Rumbolt, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. Mark Taylor got credit for the save for Quebec City. It was his 4th of the year.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until Alohalani delivered big-time for Quebec City, stroking a dramatic 3-run home run off Ari Heinonen. The game-changing hit put the Baby Blues on top, 5-2.
"I felt good up there," said Alohalani. "I saw the ball well."
The 7th-place Baby Blues improved to 13-17.
