Dirty Reds Knock Off Lighthouse at Lang Park

San Mateo first baseman Zahid Kashani had 3 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Long Island Lighthouse, 5-1. San Mateo reliever Ignacio Ayala picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Onson Sweemey absorbed the loss. Urs Ehles earned his 7th save in 7 tries.
San Mateo took a 3-1 lead on Kashani's 9th home run of the season. The solo home run, which he hit off Onson Sweemey in the bottom of the sixth, propelled San Mateo to the win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said San Mateo manager Dean Ashley.
The Dirty Reds now have a record of 18-13 with the win over Long Island.
