Ducks Get One-Run Win at Franklin
|
Benoît Baudry left his imprint on the 6-5 Long Island win against the Franklin Fire. Baudry, who is tied for 10th in the SR in extra base hits with 9, went 2 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Long Island reliever John Sawyer picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Kuang-yin Gao took the loss. The 8th-place Ducks are now 9-12, the Fire 11-10.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Ducks sent 18-year-old catcher Jud Fisher to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Long Island on top, 6-4.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Baudry.
