The Hicksville Hounds downed the Phoenix Hotspur Academy, 10-2, at Ballpark of Fresno. The Hounds were led by Michael Cherry, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Phoenix's current losing streak has reached 6 games.

The Hotspur Academy had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Hounds going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old third baseman Juan Alonso came to the plate. Alonso hit a run-scoring single on a 1-2 curveball from Phoenix hurler Luis Ramos. It was Alonso's 18th hit of the year.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Hicksville manager Wilber Moon.
