Makepeace Hits 2 home runs in Fire Win
Franklin third baseman Zak Makepeace was instrumental in his team's 8-6 win over the Phoenix Hotspur Academy. Makepeace, who is tied for 6th in the SR in bases on balls with 8, went 2-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Fire. Franklin reliever Freddy Howe was the winner. His record is now 1-1. The losing pitcher was Shawn Adams. Yakobo Mutahi picked up the save, his 1st.

Makepeace had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a full count fastball from Shawn Adams, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Fire a 7-6 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Makepeace.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Fire manager Mark Davis. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."

The win takes Franklin to 7-9.
