Hot Start Continues for Snowpeople
|
Ellesmere Island Snowpeople starter Millard Whipp was in fine form against the Quebec City Baby Blues at Dylan Park, leading his team to a 7-3 win. In 8.1 innings, Whipp surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 2. He allowed 3 runs. The Snowpeople, now 12-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
Ellesmere Island used the timely hitting of Obiniana Romulo to capture the win. The shortstop socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Snowpeople ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Romulo.
