6 Straight Wins for Snowpeople

It was a good time at The Igloo, where fans came to watch the Franklin Fire and Ellesmere Island Snowpeople get after it.
Franklin got a terrific game from catcher Martín Muńóz. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Ellesmere Island, 8-6. Muńóz was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Snowpeople, now 10-2, have been on fire in the early going.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 6-6, pinch hitter Paul Sykes won it for Ellesmere Island. With a runner on 1st, Sykes hit a 0-1 fastball from Yakobo Mutahi for a 2-run home run, giving his team a 8-6 win.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Sykes said. "We did a good job of that today."
