Hounds Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Hicksville Hounds did just enough to sneak past the Long Island Ducks, 5-4, at Hound Pound. Hicksville pitcher Damarco Lyons earned player of the game honors. Lyons went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 2-0. Hicksville, now 7-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.

A critical at-bat came in the bottom of the eighth inning when the Hounds sent 19-year-old catcher Pedro Costa to the plate with runners on 2nd and 3rd. The youngster shook off the pressure and hit a sacrifice fly, to put Hicksville on top, 5-0.

Costa called the triumph "a good team win."
