Cattlemen Turn Back Buffalo, 7-5
|
Tsuneari Hirano helped his team muscle past the Buffalo White Walkers, 7-5. In the game, the Ft. Worth second baseman went 2-4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Tom Scots got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 10 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Ft. Worth, at 18-11, occupies second place in the Silver League.
Hirano had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the fifth inning, when he hit a run-scoring double. The Cattlemen went on to win.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Ft. Worth manager Scott Thompson.
