A nice crowd turned out to see the Franklin Fire and Ladue Rams clash at Ballpark of Wellsville.

Riding the 2-hit performance of the 21-year old center fielder Tucker Sanford, the Franklin Fire stopped the Ladue Rams, 8-2. Hank Lynn, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Rams to no earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 4. The save went to Gan Hui, his 1st this season.

Sanford came through with some timely hitting for Franklin. With the score 4-1 in the top of the third and two down, Sanford hit a 0-2 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 8-1, Franklin.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Sanford told the Franklin News.

With the loss, Ladue sinks to 2-2.
