The outcome might have been different for Ogallala, had it not been for Zane Atkins, the 19-year old first baseman . Atkins stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Ogallala up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 6, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ogallala manager Luis Muńóz.
