Victory Pushes Centennial Record to 43-34
|
Fort Knox right-hander Roble Gichinga pitched his team to victory over the Ogallala Octopi at Nebraska Aquarium. The final score was 4-1. In 8 innings, Gichinga surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Ron Rouse.
Fort Knox used the timely hitting of Bowen Johnson to capture the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Centennial on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Johnson told the Fort Knox Observer.
At 43-34, the Centennial find themselves in second place in the Premier R.
