Redwood starter Josuke Okumura pitched effectively against the Valley View Cougars at Hillandale Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 6-2 win. The winning pitcher was Okumura, now 10-3. It could have been a different outcome for Redwood, had it not been for Arturo Beltrán, the 18-year old catcher . Beltrán contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Redwood up, 1-0.
