Flanderses Outmuscle Fort Knox, 11-8
|
Fort Knox got a terrific game from shortstop Gary Panniers. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Hudsonville, 11-8. Panniers was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Hudsonville reliever Dustin McTire was the winner. His record is now 2-2. José Juárez took the loss. The first-place Flanderses now have a 4-game winning streak.
José Salas helped out the Hudsonville cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the second baseman went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Salas said after the game.
