Big Day by Washington Sparks Lead Sox Win

It was a good time at The Lead Mine, where fans came to watch the Surprise Shockers and Indiana Lead Sox get after it.
Indiana right fielder Steve Washington played a vital role in his team's 7-5 triumph over Surprise. He was 2 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for Indiana. Aurelio Pampoldi, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. Tony Ruvenacht earned the save for Indiana, his 7th.
The Lead Sox got a big at-bat from catcher Mike O'Halloran. For the game, O'Halloran was 2-4 with 2 singles. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 29th hit of the season gave Indiana a 6-5 lead.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Washington told reporters after the game.
Indiana currently is in 6th place in the Premier R at 30-29.
