Starting pitcher Voitto Niskakangas pitched well enough to help the Ogallala Octopi beat the Memphis Music by the score of 4-3. Niskakangas went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 0, and struck out 9. His record improves to 6-4. Esteban De La Cruz nailed down his 3rd save.

Juan Ritaquevedo had a big run-scoring single for the Octopi in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Ogallala leading 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Phil Alldred and stroked the single to right. It was his 37th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Octopi ahead, 4-2.
