The Charleston Battery defeated the Ft. Worth Cattlemen, 8-2, in United States Silver League action at Charleston Armory, with Charleston second baseman Datu Lesaca named player of the game. Charleston has a 3-game win streak, while Ft. Worth has lost 3 in a row.

Tied up with the Cattlemen in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Battery got a boost from designated hitter Júlio Salazar. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Salazar saw a 1-2 curveball from Armando Romano and hit a 3-run home run to break the stalemate and put Charleston on top, 5-2.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Salazar told the Charleston Gazette.
