Cajuns Deal Otters 7-4 Setback
|
The Cajuns had to overcome a good performance from Tulsa pitcher José Reyes to claim a 7-4 win at Ballpark of Hughesville. Reyes went 5.2 innings and allowed no earned runs. Nick Joseph, the winner, improved to 3-1. He held the Otters to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. The Cajuns raised their record to 21-15.
Crowley used the clutch hitting of Júlio Sahagún to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to give the Cajuns the lead, 3-1. For the game, Sahagún had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
In postgame comments to the Crowley Daily, Sahagún said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
