Redwood starter Josuke Okumura put a stranglehold on the Valley View offense. The right-hander had complete command of his splitter in leading the Rhinos to a 6-0 win. Redwood is now 14-19.

Okumura, who dominated for Redwood, earned the victory to move to 4-1. He was in control the whole game, scattering 3 hits over 8.1 innings, while striking out 9. Valley View batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Okumura said.
