Pittman Belts 5 Hits
|
Archie Pittman was sizzling at the plate today. The Crowley center fielder blistered the Fort Knox Centennial for 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but couldn't prevent his club from falling to a 5-4 defeat.
"Pittman was too tough to get out today," Centennial skipper Justin Saginov said in his postgame interview. "No matter what we threw him, he hit it. And he hit some good pitches, too. But hey, I don't mind if every game somebody gets 5 hits off us, as long as we win."
Archie Pittman singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, doubled in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th.
Pittman is batting at a .292 pace this season, picking up 38 hits in 130 at-bats with no home runs, 7 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
