Getting an impressive start from Ron Plummer, Redwood beat Valley View by the score of 2-0. Plummer, now 2-4, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no earned runs. Jake Sewell earned the save, his 2nd, for the Rhinos.

It could have been a different outcome for Redwood, had it not been for Paulino Gómez, the 18-year old center fielder . Gómez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Redwood up, 1-0.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Plummer, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

With the win over Valley View, the Rhinos improved to 13-18.
