Bowties Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus St. Louis

The Buckhead Bowties topped the St. Louis Coeur, 7-5, in United States Silver League action at 5 Paces Park. The player of the game was Buckhead pitcher Randy Gabaldon. Buckhead reliever Randy Gabaldon got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Tsugahara Hori was tagged with the loss. The Bowties' win now puts them at 11-11.
The Bowties got a big at-bat from catcher Arend van der Veen. For the game, van der Veen was 1 for 2 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Buckhead a 7-5 lead.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," van der Veen told the Buckhead Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
