Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Valley View Cougars got the win.
The Valley View Cougars defeated the Hudsonville Flanderses, 4-2, at Hudsonville Park today. Leading the charge for Valley View was left fielder August Force. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Roberto Morales closed the game out for Valley View, earning his 5th save.
Zhong-yan Zhang, who is tied for 2nd in the PR with a .582 slugging percentage, aided the Valley View cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman was 2 for 5 with a double.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Force said.
The Cougars are off to a tough start, getting just their 7th win in 19 games.
