Victory Over Seahawks Takes Chicago to 51-26
The Chicago Gold Sox picked up a win at Seahwaks Stadium, knocking off the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 4-1. Starting pitcher Matt Elmore, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Elmore, the winner, moves to 6-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 2 walks. Salim Fakhir got the save, the 14th for him this season.

Chicago used the timely hitting of Pedro Trevino to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Gold Sox on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Myrtle Beach manager Omer van Osch.

Chicago has an impressive 51-26 record.
