Dirty Reds Slip Past Charleston, 4-3
|
San Mateo designated hitter Palaie Gaoteote had a 4-RBI game, which helped his team beat the Charleston Battery, 4-3. San Mateo reliever Urs Ehles picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-1. Rafael Rivera was collared with the loss. Barney Starr picked up the save for San Mateo, his 1st of the year.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Gaoteote delivered big-time for San Mateo, stroking a dramatic solo home run off Rafael Rivera. The game-changing hit put the Dirty Reds on top, 4-3.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said San Mateo manager Dean Ashley.
With their winning streak at 4, the Dirty Reds have raced to a strong start this season.
