Seahawks Cut Down Tula, 4-1
|
Chicago got a terrific performance from pitcher Clinton McIntosh, but it wasn't enough to beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks. Myrtle Beach won the Ramblers Ballpark contest, 4-1. McIntosh was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball. Basem Al-Saodi picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-1. Clinton McIntosh was tagged with the loss. The Seahawks own a robust 46-25 mark.
The outcome was still in doubt in the bottom of the fourth inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Chicago trailing 2-1, Masaki Ito needed to get a big out. On a 1-2 knuckle curve, Jeff Washington, who is tied for 5th in the PA in stolen bases with 14, struck out, putting the kibosh on a potential rally.
