Guzzlers Shut Out Tula

The Guzzlers grabbed a win, 2-0, at Galesburg Field, overcoming a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Clinton McIntosh. McIntosh went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Galesburg reliever Corey Holt was the winner. His record is now 1-2. The losing pitcher was Clinton McIntosh. Prosper Azagba was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 8 of 9 save opportunities.
The Guzzlers beat the Tula in part due to timely hitting. Case in point: the two-out single Yosuke Daisen produced in the bottom of the seventh. Batting against Chicago pitcher Clinton McIntosh, Daisen gave his team a 2-0 lead when he hit a 2-run single.
"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Daisen. "I just want to win ballgames."
Galesburg is 8th in the Premier A with a record of 29-37.
