Vandals Shut Out Gold Sox
|
In a low-scoring clash between Eugene and Chicago, pitcher Francisco Aragón was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned player of the game honors for Eugene in the 2-0 win. Even with the win, the Vandals have a dismal 19-37 record.
The Vandals got a big at-bat from second baseman Paul Stark. For the game, Stark went 1 for 1 with a double and 2 walks. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 5th double of the season gave Eugene a 1-0 lead.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Stark told a Eugene Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
