Blaze Edge Past Walleye, 4-3
|
The South Beach Blaze beat the Walla Walla Walleye, 4-3, at Walleye Tank. The Blaze got a fine performance from catcher Masafumi Kawaguchi, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. Alexander Dudley locked down his 7th save. South Beach is 5th in the Premier A with a record of 25-25.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Kawaguchi delivered big-time for South Beach, stroking a dramatic solo home run off Hugo Pińón. The game-changing hit put the Blaze on top, 4-3.
In postgame comments, Kawaguchi said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
