Guzzlers Slip Past York, 3-2

The Guzzlers faced a stiff challenge from York pitcher Lee Tucker, but persevered to claim a win at York Park. The final score was 3-2. Tucker went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. The winner was Reid Ross in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Walt McPike took the loss. Galesburg is now 15-22.
Galesburg used the timely hitting of Yasukazu Yano to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Guzzlers on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Yano attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
