Walleye Deal Tula 6-4 Setback
|
Chicago second baseman Alfredo Valdéz had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Valdéz went 1-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, even as Walla Walla beat the Tula, 6-4. Valdéz was named the player of the game despite the loss. Billy Limby got the win, improving to 2-2. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Yoshinori Nakada picked up the save, his 1st.
Rich Hansen was a prime factor in the win for the Walleye. In the bottom of the third with two out, the 22-year old third baseman hit a 2-run double. He was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hansen said.
The Tula, now 20-16, have lost 4 straight.
