Eugene rode a decent outing from starter Eric Mason to victory over the York Revolution at The Riot Zone. The final score was 4-3. In 7 innings, Mason surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 3. He allowed 2 runs. Al Poe, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Early in the game, catcher Maxim Abeele had a 2-run double for Eugene. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Vandals on top, 2-0.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Mason said.
The win puts the Vandals at 10-24, while the Revolution drop to 18-16.
