Vandals Jolt Guzzlers with Late Rally

Eugene starter Eric Mason had a strong outing against the Galesburg Guzzlers at Galesburg Field. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 9-5 win. Carlos Guadarrama, credited with the win, is now 1-1. He allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.1 innings. The Guzzlers, at 10-21, have lost 5 in a row.
Eugene used a timely hit from Kunimatsu Nishimura to get the win. The catcher delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Vandals on top, 8-5. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort," said Mason after the game.
