Loss to Mango Extends Eugene Losing Streak

The Provo Mango defeated the Eugene Vandals, 7-3, at The Riot Zone. Provo right fielder José Jiménez was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The 4th-place Mango have won 4 straight.
The outcome might have been different for Provo, had it not been for Pablo Santos, the 23-year old shortstop . Santos stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Provo up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
