Dirty Reds Get Road Win, 6-2
|
The San Mateo Dirty Reds defeated the Long Island Lighthouse, 6-2, in United States Silver League action at The Lighthouse, with San Mateo pitcher Yoshii Ikeda named player of the game. San Mateo reliever Yoshii Ikeda got the win, raising his record to 1-2. Onson Sweemey was tagged with the loss. The win gives the Dirty Reds a record of 6-5.
San Mateo relied on the hitting of Paul Tate to pick up the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the third inning to put the Dirty Reds on top, 2-1. For the game, Tate had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Ikeda.
