Walleye Stun Vandals, 3-1
|
Walla Walla used a superb performance from starting pitcher Chris Rice to down the Eugene Vandals, 3-1. The Vandals fall to 6-7 and continue their uneasy start to the 2039 season.
Had Robbie Brendle not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Brendle hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Walleye.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Rice said after the game.
