Vandals Need Extra Frames to Get Past Guzzlers
The Eugene Vandals took Galesburg pitcher Georges Cormier's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Riot Zone. The final score had Eugene getting past the Guzzlers, 5-4. Cormier went 6.1 innings and allowed 1 earned run, striking out 6. Eugene reliever Al Poe was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Reid Ross took the loss. The win moves Eugene to a record of 4-6.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Eugene second baseman Paul Stark, facing Corey Holt, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Vandals the 5-4 win.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Stark.
