Gold Sox Deal Vandals 8-5 Setback
Chicago rode a decent outing from starter Carlos Poujol to victory over the Eugene Vandals at Little Gold Sox Park. The final score was 8-5. Salim Fakhir sewed up the save, his 2nd. The win moves Chicago to a record of 3-4.

Jeff Griffin had a big 2-run double for the Gold Sox in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Chicago trailing 3-2 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from Eric Mason and stroked the double to left. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Gold Sox ahead, 4-3.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Griffin. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
