Galesburg right-hander Steve Gourin made an effective start against the South Beach Blaze at The Ballpark on the Beach, leading his team to a 6-5 win. With the loss, South Beach sinks to 3-4.
The outcome might have been different for Galesburg, had it not been for Yosuke Daisen, the 19-year old center fielder . Daisen stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put Galesburg up, 6-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 2 doubles and 1 single.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Gourin.
