Revolution Stick Guzzlers with 6-2 Loss
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Dave Summers, the York Revolution defeated the Galesburg Guzzlers, 6-2. Summers was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Revolution. Felipe Nieves earned the win for York. He lasted 5 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. The Revolution raised their record to 3-1.
York used the timely hitting of Jeff Bowers to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Revolution on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Summers told the York Herald.
