The Niagara Falls Expos eked out a 2-1 win versus the Laredo Hawks at Waterfall Park. Nobody did more than pitcher John Jamieson, who captured player of the game honors. After today's action, Niagara Falls sits at 31-39, while Laredo falls to 40-30.

Dave Vansant had a big run-scoring single for the Expos in the bottom of the first inning. With Niagara Falls leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Ed Alexander and stroked the single to right. It was his 52nd hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Expos ahead, 2-0.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Niagara Falls skipper Cecil Wood.
