Mancelona and Syracuse duked it out at Storm Park and the Torch came out victorious.
Mancelona pitcher Dave Becker did his part in helping his team beat the Syracuse Storm, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The win was Jordon Glen Anderson's in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Kevin Moran took the loss for Syracuse. Darrell Bannatyne earned the save for Mancelona, his 12th of the year.
Mancelona relied on the bat of Juan Barrón to get the win. The second baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Torch ahead, 3-2. For the game, Barrón had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"Nervous? No," said Barrón. "It was my time to shine."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Torch.
