Arryns Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Lake Erie and Caldwell met at Pipers Ballpark in front of a lively crowd.
The Arryns had to overcome a good performance from Caldwell pitcher John Seawright to claim a 5-1 win at Pipers Ballpark. Seawright went 6 innings and allowed no earned runs. Glenn van der Kuijl got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 7 hits in 8 innings.
Lake Erie used the timely hitting of Patrick Mildren to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Arryns ahead, 2-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
Mildren called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
The 8th-place Arryns have won 4 straight games.
