Arryns Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win
|
Lake Erie starter Artie Crumpacker pitched effectively against the Caldwell Chiefs at Pipers Ballpark. The right-hander led his team to a 7-4 win. The winner was Lake Erie reliever Luis Reyes, now 3-0. The loser was Edwin Meadows. Surya Prawiranega earned his 2nd save in 3 tries.
Lake Erie used the timely hitting of Paul Wood to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Arryns on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Crumpacker said.
Lake Erie is now 25-30.
