Expos Get One-Run Win at Caldwell
|
Fans who came to Pipers Ballpark watched the Niagara Falls Expos and the Caldwell Chiefs fight to the finish.
The Niagara Falls Expos did just enough to secure a 2-1 victory over the Caldwell Chiefs at Pipers Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher David Schrattenthaler, who captured player of the game honors. At 26-24, the Expos are currently 6th in the Silver A.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Enrique Martínez, who is tied for 2nd in the SA in triples with 4, drew a walk. The Expos went on to win.
"There was no wiggle room in this one," said Martínez.
