Laredo Hawks starter Justin Frederick was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Mancelona Torch, 4-1. Frederick picked up the win for Laredo, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Javier Iturburua.

Laredo took a 4-1 lead on Paul Pitts's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Mancelona pitcher Javier Téllez in the top of the eighth.

"I thought we played a nice game," Pitts told the Laredo Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
