Brown in Command, No-Hits Expos
|
In a dominant outing, Tynan Brown of the Rocky Mountain Vibes totally silenced the bats of the Niagara Falls Expos, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Vibes' 1-0 victory, Brown faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 15 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Rocky Mountain manager Willie Mitchell said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Cecil Wood told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Vibes had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Brown pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This year Brown is 3-and-4 with no saves and a 2.72 ERA. He has given up 36 hits in 49.2 innings with 62 strikeouts.
