The Hollywood Shredders topped the Portland Evergreens, 6-4, in United States Premier League action at Evergreen Park. The player of the game was Hollywood pitcher and Curridabat, Costa Rica native Jesús Vidro. The win takes Hollywood to 6-5.
Hollywood relied on the hitting of Ramón Rodríguez to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shredders on top, 6-0. For the game, Rodríguez had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Jesús's tempo and rhythm were good," said Shredders manager Bill Cheese. "He was the key to us winning."
