Trautmann Hits 2 home runs in Voodoo Win
|
Danny Trautmann left his imprint on the 9-5 New Orleans win against the Vancouver Grey Wolves. Trautmann, who finished 2nd in the PL in slugging percentage with .582 last year, hit 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. Sy-ing Tah, the winner, improved to 3-0. He held the Grey Wolves to 2 earned runs on 4 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 3. The Voodoo, now 9-2, have hit the ground running this season.
New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Richard Jost to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to give the Voodoo the lead, 2-1. For the game, Jost had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"We've got a great group of guys," Trautmann said, "and we're having fun right now."
