Alejándrez Slugs Voodoo to 5-4 Win
With first baseman Jorge Alejándrez leading the charge, the New Orleans Voodoo defeated the Portland Evergreens, 5-4, at Evergreen Park. Alejándrez, who finished 3rd in the PL in runs with 81 in 2036, belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Grover Lowdermilk converted his 36th save in 40 tries. New Orleans is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Alejándrez came through with some timely hitting for New Orleans. With the score 2-2 in the top of the fourth and no one down, Alejándrez hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run home run. His 14th home run of the season made it 4-2, New Orleans.

Alejándrez told the New Orleans Daily: "Don't care what other people think. Jorge knows who Jorge is."
